My Indian Roses Blanket design was inspired by a trip to Mysore, India where I came across some
lovely vintage ceramic tiles that featured pretty roses at the centre. the original design was worked using woollen yarns from the West Yorkshire Spinners range, but you can use any DK weight yarn so long at it crochets to the same tension and is equal in length
The Stylecraft yarn brand is a favourite of mine so I have worked a new sample motif of the design as an alternative to the original alongside two new versions that use yarns from the fabulous ColourLab DK range. To work through the new versions of the blanket design you will need the original pattern, plus your chosen yarn substitution document. You will need to refer to the pattern for measurements, equipment needed and the pattern notes.
Please note that the pattern is written using UK terms.
There is not a US terms pattern available at the moment.
The pattern contains step-by-step images but there are no crochet charts.
The Stylecraft Specail DK kit contains the pattern plus the following yarn substitutions in place of the yarns listed on the Life DK colour chart. You will need to download the Life DK colour chart below.
4 x Petrol Special DK - Teal Life DK
3 x Bottle Special DK - Olive Life DK
2 x Cream Special DK - Cream Life DK
1 x Turquoise Special DK - Aqua Life DK
1 x Meadow Special DK - Fren Life DK
1 x Fuchsia Purple Special DK - Fuchsia Life DK
1 x Mustard Special DK - Mustard Life DK

We have made up the Special DK kits with like for like shade substitiutions. We have not tested the overall yarn usege. Please be careful if you are a loose crocheter as Special DK can use slightly more yarn than Life DK and you may need to purchase more yarn to finish the project
All yarn substitution documents are free to download.
